Dr. Schenkel is a Full Professor at University of Guelph and Director of Center for Genetic Improvement of Livestock (CGIL), who has research interests ranging from theoretical to applied genetics and genomics in livestock breeding. Current research focuses on the enhancement of genetic evaluations of livestock species with emphasis on genomic selection. Dr. Schenkel is also a member of other influential industry boards in Canada, including the DairyGen Council of Canadian Dairy Network and the Dairy Cattle Genetic Evaluation Board.

Delma Kennedy started working for OMAFRA in 1985 as assistant coordinator for the sheep and swine improvement programs. She coordinated the genetic evaluation program in Ontario until 2010 when the program responsibility was transferred to the Ontario Sheep Farmers.
