OSF is offering 2 advanced genetic trainings to Ontario breeders this September. These trainings are developped for purebred breeders and future purebred breeders. They are opened to all breeders (GenOvis membership is not a requirement to assist the 2 presentations but will facilitate understanding of the reports)

The two sessions aim to present the concept of a breeders’ group and how breeders can work together to increase the genetic gains. Those are great opportunities to learn more on how doing faster genetic progress.

Breeders Webinar #2

Sep 21, 2021, 7pm

Speaker: Frederic Fortin, AGR, M.Sc – CEPOQ Geneticist

It is highly recommended to assist the first webinar to have a good understanding of this presentation.

Session 2: The second session will take a blind report from a breeders’ group in Quebec and one report from a breeder and show them as an example (what are the recommendations and the development of personalized or breed indexes). The group of breeders is evaluated as one big flock working in the same direction and sharing genetics, we call it sometimes a virtual flock even if the ewes and rams are real.

Once registration has been received an email will follow with the Zoom meeting link.
